Hikvision RTSP and Encryption

Hello,

I am adding my hikvision camera using RTSP.

  1. Can the password in RTSP can be plain text only ?
  2. My stream has encryption enabled, How can I pass the encryption key in RTSP URL ?

Hi,

RTSP protocol itself doesn’t support any form of encryption and the password is always in a plain text, unfortunately.

If you’re having issues with the encryption feature which Hikvision uses, please turn this feature off in your camera or NVR, connect it to Angelcam and then turn it back on. After doing this, you should get a working connection both in Angelcam and through hik-connect or other service using this connection method.
